Pros: Beautiful exterior, interior, great features, strong engine,

Cons: Tight steering, fuel economy, cost

Think Of It As "Land Rover Lite"

Pros: The usual Lexus virtues--smoothness, quietness, and interior finish--with added "trucky" flavor.

Cons: Annoyingly grabby brakes, "trucky" handling, poor fuel economy, clumsy third-row seat.

The Bottom Line: If you want a midsize luxury SUV with three-row seating, the GX is one of few choices out there. For most buyers, however, Lexus' own RX offers better value.

Pros: Fit & finish, quiet ride, many luxury amenities, Lexus dealer experience, warranty

Cons: Back seat is only for kids, fuel economy on the low side

The Bottom Line: If you've got $50,000-$60,000 grand to spend on a mid-size luxury sport ute, this is the one to get!
