A great SUV at an excellent price!

by pmahaffy , Apr 28, 2003
Pros: Price, power, overall quality and value!
Cons: slightly bouncing ride, not marketed heavily
The Bottom Line: A very good SUV worth checking out!

Review: In the search for another vehicle which would accommodate the whole family with enough options to not regret the purchase at a great price I thought of originally looking at a Kia Sorento. A bad dealer experience at Kia sent me back to the drawing...

Drove in looking for a Santa Fe, drove out in a 2005 Isuzu Ascender!

by LisaDo , Jun 29, 2007
Pros: Price, available options, warranty.
Cons: Gas mileage, can be hard to find aftermarket parts, road noise.
The Bottom Line: Basically A Chevy Trailblazer in a less expensive body.

Review: We had actually went to the car lot to look at the Hyundai Santa Fe. I had wanted a Chevy Trailblazer, but due to the price we knew there was no way we could afford one. We were looking to trade in my Sonata and the dealership offered a additional...

Not bad at all. Mixed bag!

by rsmg , Nov 27, 2005
Pros: Longer warranty than GM clones, 4WD choices, luxury ride, high-end options, (rain sensor, On-Star, etc.)
Cons: Gas hog, moderate pick-up, pitching ride with vague steering, no 5th pass. headrest!
The Bottom Line: An interesting alternative for GMC Envoy, etc. prospects. Good towing capacity but it's really lugging near capacity. Check out the warranty!!

Review: I bought my 2005 Isuzu Ascender for about $6K under MSRP toward the end of the long "employee discount" craze of 2005. It's warranties are roughly double those offered by General Motors for their GMC Envoy, Chevy Trailblazer, and one or two other...
