had to return it

I did not like this washer and ended up having to return it. I purchased the washer/dryer set and had problems w/both pieces (see dryer review for more info). Any one problem alone might not have caused me to return it, but it was the cumulative effect. After a few days, the seal on the washer began to have a powdery appearance. The store said that using non HE detergents might cause this, but I was using one of the top of the line HE detergents. The spin cycle was very loud (jet engine noise). Being close to the bedrooms, this prevented me ever being able to do the laundry after the kids went to bed. I also had problems with clothes smelling like mildew. If I left them in the washer for any length of time, I might as well run the cycle again. As a mom, I can't always get back to the washer immediately. It might need to sit for 30 minutes or so until I can transfer to the dryer. I have purchased a different brand front loader and don't have this problem. The store initially didn't want to take the items back, but I had only used them three weeks and for what I paid, I expected better performance
