Very useful for me as a language teacher
Pros:
Easy to use in recording and download, high sound quality, value for money
Cons:
date settings lost too easily
The Bottom Line:
I will definitely keep using it and I would recommend it for language teachers anyhow!

Author's Review
I use this device for my Dutch lessons, and it works very fine to record my memo phrases in high quality, in order to download the according files in MP3 (automatically done) on my PC.
The software is indeed very decent and easy to use. That way it's really something useful to dowload the files regularly, so my students get MP3-files by mail after each lesson. Great service, and they appreciate it.
The manipulation of options at work is not too handy, but I don't change folders regularly. The 99 files in one folder are fine for me. The real advantage is when you have the files on the PC, where you can rename them in a suitable way in order to track them back whenever you need them.
I include the recording date in the file name, as because that info gets lost otherwise. The date "modified" is indeed the time of download, not the recording date.
What's more, the device loses its time setting too easily. As I don't use it daily, I find that the setting gets lost even when the batteries are not weak, only when it is in hold.
But... maybe I have a new workaround. I've begun using rechargable batteries, and I discovered that the batteries are charged while the device is connected to the PC. So maybe I should not set it in hold position and connect it to the PC more often, even when I don't have to download ;-)
The fact that a cable is needed to download is fine for me. The cable is plugged constantly in my PC, the other end ready to plug on my desktop. I saw less compact devices with built-in plugs, but they didn't have a nice rectangular shape, and they were more expensive too.
In Belgium I paid 80 EUR for it (life appears more expensive in Europe, time to move?)
