"it's been a bad day...."

Date of Review:  Jan 8, 2004
The Bottom Line: buy me
Review: Pitchfork Media's review of R.E.M.'s In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003 addresses those skeptical of the quality of R.E.M. post-Automatic For the People, begging them to remember that "R.E.M.'s best tracks come pretty close to the pinnacle of...

All Things Come "In Time"

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: R.E.M. was everywhere in the early to mid 1990's.
Review: R.E.M. was a favorite of mine back when I was but a 'tween. I came upon R.E.M. innocently as my sister was a huge fan from the I.R.S. Records days of The One I Love and It's The End Of The World As We Know It. The funny thing about me is even though...

Another Great Best-Of Album That Increases Artist Appreciation

Date of Review:  Jan 8, 2005
The Bottom Line: This two-disc set is a wonderful way to learn about or expand your appreciation of R.E.M., one of the most original, poetic groups of our time.
Review: R.E.M.'s album "Automatic For The People" is probably the group's most enduring, best album. That would explain why the two-disc "The Best of R.E.M. 1988 - 2003" album has four (out of 18) tracks from "Automatic For The People" on the first disc and...

About Time!

Date of Review:  Nov 11, 2003
The Bottom Line: This is a good companion set to the IRS Best Of album, or even Eponymous, but is not definitive. Still, it's got more songs than the DVD!
Review: As part of the slew of greatest hits that are currently - or soon will be - plagueing the market, this album will probably be the most well-received.

R.E.M. have always been hailed by critics as the band that always managed to retain their...
