Product Review

I love this machine!

by   ohmaggiemae ,   Apr 5, 2007

Pros:  Everything.

Cons:  Strong smell after popping. Replacing the lid solves this.

The Bottom Line:  Great machine for around $30.00. Don't pay more than that when you don't have to, but it is a great thing to have even if you don't love popcorn.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I've tried every method of popcorn popping, and so far I'm liking this the best. It's quick, fun for kids to watch, easy to use, you can make as much or as little as you want, and the popcorn is good! I love that I can walk away from it and not worry about it burning too quickly. I unplug it when I think it's done.

I used to use the "old fashioned" machine, where you stand there and turn the handle while it pops. I loved this one until I tried Stir Crazy. I had to keep replacing the "old fashioned" ones because I could never clean them good enough or right enough and then the popcorn started tasting funny, like metal or something. Stir Crazy doesn't do any of that. It's easy to clean and the popcorn tastes great.

I paid $30.00 for it, and I think it was worth it. Not sure if I'd really want to pay more, though. Although, I recently broke the handle on mine and I'm anxious to have a new one. I was cleaning the base of the unit, and I dropped it. The handle snapped off. Of course, this can't be repaired, but I am still able to use it. I have to use hot pads to flip the machine over.
