Author's Review
Mom, I want to shave my head, he said sweetly and innocently. I replied in the fashion that any common sense woman of my nature would reply. O.K. dear right after we all pile in the car and get that swastika tattoo and that tongue ring you always wanted for a birthday present. Sarcasm reigns supreme in my home. I have learned to pick my fights as they say.
So begins another wholesome chapter back at my place of residence.
I have learned that most of this stuff fades away if you either ignore it or chose to pretend that your son never said it in the first place. Ha! Fat chance on that one. My precious baby who now towers over me by at least a foot and could take me down in one minute with one hand tied behind his back had the most gorgeous platinum blond hair. Like most teens though there is two factors that influence them. One he just couldnt be bothered with the hair styling bit. The constant blow-drying routine never attracted him. Too much else to attend too, like contemplating the global warming trends or perhaps it was the constant staring at the latest Calvin Klein girl. Whatever. The other motivating force was the peer pressure. The dreaded words we parents run from in dire fear. We can deal with anything..Except peer pressure. You see all the males at the high school were shaving off their hair. Homes all along our block were replaying the very same scene in their kitchens.
I gave in. I figured as long as it wasnt drinking, drugs, sex or anything connected I should consider myself fairly lucky. What we resorted to initially was going to a barber where for 7 dollars they shaved the beautiful golden locks. After they were gone the upkeep was about 7 dollars every 4 weeks. The whole process took about 3 minutes. No shampoo, no fuss, just quick and simple. Finally my son approached me with the need to do this whole thing himself. He explained it would save me money. Not only sweet he is thoughtful of my bank account as well. What more could a mother ask for? For approximately 30 dollars we purchased the pro basic model.
The set of electric hair clippers come with four removable and interchangeable clips. They are easy to take on and off. The clips alter the amount of hair that is clipped off. Basically, once you pick a certain length of hair you want off, you can go over the same areas and it just trims all the hair to the same length. The hair clipper worked efficiently and with very little noise or excess vibration. In the time I have utilized this clipper my son has suffered no nicks or cuts. There is a nice feature on it, which allows you to also trim your mustache or sideburns neatly. It works off a standard 110-volt plug and has a lengthy cord to allow you to use it with ease while your victim A.K.A. son is sitting waiting for a trim. The cord is about 8 foot long. The on off switch is on the side and easy to locate quickly. A fine adjustment switch also allows the user to take off small amounts of hair, such as the back of the neck area. As far as a maintaining it, the clipper comes with Clipper Oil that is used on the blade in a tiny amount after each use. This should be done while the clipper still running.
The clipper comes with a one-year warranty, but after one year of use this clipper is still going strong and I have had no issues with it. Issues with my son I have, he doesnt come with money back guarantee, and they never do.
