WWF Royal Rumble is a Very Fun Game for wrestling fans who like it fast and fun. The game is very simple, beat the other player. In this game one can choose either exhibition or the Royal Rumble. In exhibition the player chooses a wrestler and also a partner which helps with interference moves which are chosen before the fight begins. the player then fights through ten other wrestlers who have partners also. The fights get harder along the way and the final fight is against the duo of Vince and Shane. In Royal Rumble mode a wrestler is chosen and you then wrestle up to nine, yes nine, players at a time in the ring. the object is to eliminate other wrestlers by knocking them over the top rope without getting knocked out yourself. The controls in the game are very simple with the basic punch, grab, and block buttons used to fight. The special attcks and moves are done with the R trigger when you have a S in your meter. These S's can be saved up for later use or if you have 3 then you can do your wrestlers finisher. One thing about the game is that it has every wrestlers finisher down to look just like on TV. There are not many wrestlers in the game, only 21, but they are done very well plus all their signature moves and finishers. The graphic power of the dreamcast is shown in this game with beautiful wrestlers, arenas and backgrounds. Other extras of the game are secret backstage areas that are accessed by playing exhibition and if the lights turn out you will be transported to a new area. Some of the areas include on the stage, a boiler room, a kitchen and a few other areas also. Overall the game is great for wrestling fans but lacks in areas such as season and many wrestlers. The big thing here though is the ability to have 9 players in the ring at a time, which has never been done before. Just think of what a game engine like this would be like with the added features and wrestlers of Smackdown.
