Author's Review
I bought Mayhem for $30 at a K-Mart and thought that I'd get an O.K. game, and I got something more. Granted, the entrances stink, and the backstage brawling is fair, but the in ring action is too sweet to be sour.
A friend of mine played me at it and whooped my [censored] the first time that he played it. Then I got tough and killed him in a weapons match. Jimmy Hart got done slaughtering Goldberg shortly after Kevin Nash handed Bret Hart a whole heapin' helpin' of pain. He never wanted to play me again because he was starting to get the controls mixed up. He was occasionally going back to the WrestleMania 2000 controls, which are slightly different.
One thing that might have helped out the game is more music. The only music that the fighters come down in are either the nWo Black and White & Wolfpac, Sting, Goldberg, DDP, Randy Savage, Konnan, Buff Bagwell, and two generic songs. There should be more variety.
Well, you need some practice to start off with, but then it gets fun. So, I own both WM2K and Mayhem, and I'm happy. All I need now is ECW's Hardcore Revolution game and I'll be in business.
