The good. This phone is definitely a looker. The keys look like they came straight off of a Razr/ The blue back lighting sets it apart from other phones (in a good way). If you point it forward it looks just like a remote control (wife pointed that out). If you buy one with multiple phones, it can conference between each handset (awesome feature). Each handset has speaker phone. If you pick up the phone and it's for your wife in the other room, you can alert her and tell her to pick up the phone. No more shouting across the house.
The Bad. After charging the battery for 17 hours (book says 16) the battery showed zero bars. 2nd problem. If you program a name and number into the phone directory and the person calls. The phone will not display what the directory says. Example. Caller ID says, Cellular phone 619***-****. You program that number to say Mike. The person calls you back. It still says Cellular phone. Why? The other phone makers can integrate the two, why not VTECH. ARGGG. When VTech can add this feature, I might return, until then, hello Panasonic. 3rd problem, the caller ID does not show a 1 in front of the area code, sure you can press # to add it, but why. I have a Panasonic and an AT&T phone, which both of them show the 1.
Bottom line. The phone has a lot of great features, but still fails at the basics.
Background. This is my 3rd Vtech portable phone. I was expecting them to finally fix the Phone book/caller ID integration. Unfortunately they havent.
