The Bottom Line: The new Jetta isn't a bad car, however until VW improves its base engine, $27,000 is too much moo-la for this vehicle.

Destyled for 2005.5: Lots of pros, lots of cons

The Bottom Line: The appeal of luxury-class interior materials and feature content is dulled by Toyota styling and un-Toyota reliability concerns.
Review: At last January's Detroit auto show a few cars really surprised me. On the positive side, a couple of new cars from Saturn will actually be desirable. I very much look forward to driving them. Then there was the totally redesigned VW Jetta.
