High Pitch Wining Noise in Upper Fan-Suspected Design Flaw

I just purchased my Viking VCBB363L about a month ago. From the very first day it was installed I noticed (as did my kitchen cabinet installers and other subcontractors working on the house) a high pitched wining noise on the upper fan. I called the retailer where I purchased the unit and just had a service call. What the technican told me blew my mind. He essentially said that this is a common problem on this unit that Viking is aware of and he gets a lot of service calls about it. He told me the fan is quiet when run separately (i.e outside the fridge) but gives off an ANNOYING high pitched noise when attached to the fridge housing. He said there is nothing more he could do..the only thing is to complain to Viking. Every time that cooling fan comes on I will hear the high pitched noise. It kicks on several times an house and is so bad I don't want to be in or near the kitchen. I am so bummed after spending months and thousands on dollars remodeling the kitchen and rest of the house. I'll never buy another Viking appliance.

I can't believe Viking or reputable appliance retailers can sell a $6000 fridge with such an obvious defect. When the fan kicks on I can hear it in my living room--2 rooms away from the kitchen.

I am in the process of trying to resolve this with the retailer. Update to follow?
