I just recently bought a new PC from a small computer manufacturer and chose the ViewSonic G90fb as my monitor. I was replacing a Gateway VX920 Diamondtron NF on my old computer (sold the whole shebang to my brother).
This monitor is better than most I've seen, but not quite as good as my old Diamondtron. Colors are crisp, setup was a snap, and the monitor is black so it looks very nice with other black or dark computer components (my poor rented cable modem, which is "computer taupe" in color looks out of place next to my new black monitor and multimedia speakers!). The on-screen display menu is very easy to understand to those with even moderate computer knowledge.
Two complaints, the base is detachable, and the monitor is actually shipped with the base detatched. While this allows users with an abnormally high monitor mounting surface to simply not use the base, mine was pain to snap on, and then flip the unit over to set on my desktop. It came off once during installation, and I actually scraped my arm holding the bottom of the monitor while I brushed the base away before setting the monitor down on the desk. Another complaint is also base-related. I purchased this monitor over it's cousin the E90fb, in part because of the optional USB hub that could be added to the monitor base. But the USB base module points to the rear of the monitor! I thought the USB hub in the base would point forward, toward the user, which to me would make more sense. But oh well. My bad for not researching further.
Compared to my excellent old VX920, the actual screen surface is a bit more inset (the distance between the actual screen and the outer flat anti-reflective pane) on the ViewSonic which took a little getting used to. After a week or so of looking at this screen, though, I can't tell the difference.
