Alanis Morissette and Under Rug Swept: What rug have you been living under?

Date of Review:  Mar 7, 2002
The Bottom Line: Why do I beg like a child for your candy, Alanis? Because I have fallen in love and I can't get up.
Review: Dearest Alanis,

It's been a while! So how have you been? I was starting to get a little worried. After the manner in which Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie was received, I thought we might never hear from you again! I'm glad you are...

Alanis Morissette Finally Finds Rock Under The Rug...Swept

Date of Review:  Mar 19, 2002
The Bottom Line: Alanis goes from a movie theater, forgets to say thank you, and finally rocks out under the rug.
Review: Rocker Alanis Morissette goes from being angry, to being spiritual, to being well?.a rocker. In Under Rug Swept (gosh, the grammar king in me wants to call the album Under THE Rug Swept) Alanis details various emotions both hers and others to the...

Alanis Morissette won';t be Under Rug Swept this time around!

Date of Review:  Mar 17, 2002
The Bottom Line: Fantastic third effort from the enchanting disenchanted Alanis Morissette. A few weak songs do not diminish the more frequent brilliant moments.
Review: When Alanis Morissette stormed onto the scene with her acidic, caustic but brilliant Jagged Little Pill I have to admit I was first a skeptic. I missed out on her first release ?You Oughta Know? when I was in a hell otherwise known as Casper,...

Breaking Through Introversion

Date of Review:  Feb 22, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you are a fan of Alanis Morissette you have got to pick up this disc.
Review:
If you are like me at all you are feeling a little uneasy about this latest offering from Alanis Morissette. Believe me I know, I was too. While there were a couple good songs off of her recent Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie it just didn't...

Not as angry as she used to be!

Date of Review:  Mar 8, 2002
The Bottom Line: Many non-Alanis fans will probably enjoy this record more than her die-hard fans.
Review: Alanis Morrissette continues her trend of trying to put herself as far away musically as she can from her debut album. Here, she is certainly less angry, and some of the songs here are pretty lame but catchy just the same.

Album highs? "21...

Now This Is What I Call Disappointment

Date of Review:  Mar 13, 2002
The Bottom Line: Everything has its purpose. This one was made to cure insomnia.
Review: I can feel so boring for someone so interesting, sings Alanis and gee, indeed, she feels really so boring with this new effort Under Rug Swept [2002]. The vast majority of fans and not fans were disappointed with her Supposed Former Infatuation...

Three Times Isn't A Charm for Alanis Morissette

Date of Review:  May 7, 2002
The Bottom Line: Morissette was better on her earlier releases. Under Rug Swept is a disappointment to say the very least.
Review: I remember Alanis Morissette?s first video and my first exposure to her music. It was in the form of an angry little rock track with great bass guitars called You Oughta Know. After hearing that track, I knew I immediately had to buy the CD. Thus...

Alanis Morissette's Under Rug Swept

Date of Review:  Jul 11, 2002
The Bottom Line: Half a waste, half brilliant. Maybe get the MP3's and/or burn the first seven tracks and Surrendering.
Review: I'm sure we all remember Alanis from her smash hit 1994 debut, Jagged Little Pill, which had seven Top 10 singles and is one of the greatest selling albums of all time.

Stressed out by her sudden and overwhelming success, Alanis fled to a...

Finding Alanis' Utopia

Date of Review:  Mar 18, 2002
The Bottom Line: Finding that Alanis can grow up and mature after having such phenomenal success, this album shows things can be slightly different in the world of the supposed former infatuation junkie.
Review: From the first few notes that came ringing through my radio as I listened to the pre-album released single, Hands Clean, from the new Alanis Morisette full length recording Under Rug Swept, my thoughts ventured back to the sophomore attempt by this...

Alanis Tackles Album All Alone

Date of Review:  Oct 16, 2009
The Bottom Line: Alanis clearly shows she can write and produce an album on her own, hopefully something she will do again
Review: In 1995, we were introduced to a young lady who the world thought was nothing but angry, and that would be the one and only Alanis Morissette.

Alanis, who had once been a pop star as a teenager in Canada changed up her style once she had...
