Author's Review
Being a die-hard Alanis fan, I bought this cd the day it came out without previously hearing the tracks. I wasn't dissapointed. Since Jagged Little Pill, Alanis' popularity seemed to die down. Some would say that Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie was generally a flop. Indeed that record didn't do what JLP did before it, but I think that Alanis' musical growth, her attempt to find herself in her music, has finally appeared. Under Rug Swept is definately different from Jagged Little Pill, but much more listener friendly than Supposed...
Producing and writing this album on her own, I do beleive it reflects more upon her self than any of her previous records. Kudos to Alanis for that.
This album features the singles "Hands Clean" and "Precious Illusions", which videos were shown for on MTV and VH1 here in the U.S.
More or less, Alanis has built a fan base over the years, and I believe those people are the ones that continue to support her. I know that any Alanis fan will absolutely LOVE this album, and if haven't been fond of alanis, give it a chance! Catchy, heart-filled lyrics that make you think "gee this sounds like me."
