Product Review

The cheapest luxury car

by   kearneyman ,   Jun 20, 2002

Pros:  sound system, extremely quiet, great gas mileage, spacious, Lexus quality

Cons:  no gas cap "string", the throw is longer than I expected

The Bottom Line:  This is the best car ever. The sound system, the suspension, the space, everything is so perfect. I even slept in my car comfortably.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

First of all I would like to say, “wow!” This car is totally awesome and for someone of my caliber. I mean I went from a 96 Grand Am to this! But I guess that I am a little biased because to me, if it ain’t a Toyota, it ain’t no good. But, HEY, that’s just me.
So anyways, here’s the incredible story of me and my car. I am a college student and I drive 64 miles to school so, I wanted a new car. I wanted a car that had good gas mileage and was cool looking. And what better car than the Toyota Celica. It looks great, is made for the younger generation ,and is a Toyota. Plus it gets awesome gas mileage, 30/36. So, I just knew it was the perfect car for me; was I wrong. I am 6’2 and 145 lbs, and this car made feel claustrophobic, and on top of that, I hit my head on the ceiling. So there went my dream of a new car.
About a week later my dad took me to the dealership and showed me this car. “This car looks really cool Dad”, I told him. This car really looks like a car that any teenager would want to drive. Then he said something like glad because its yours, at this point once I heard, “Its yours”, I forgot about everything. My dad had haggled away this car to $19,000. Incredible!
This car is the best car I can think of. It is a solid car, extremely quiet, and yet sporty. The acceleration is there and its very easy to go 75mph without even knowing it. The interior is spacious, as is the trunk, and the seats are comfortable, almost like a bed. And the sound system is of up most quality. This car is quiet enough that if the tachometer wasn’t there I don’t think I would know the car was on. The insulation is great. I mean I live in Texas and the days are hot hot hot. Yet, 2 or 3 minutes after I start the car the AC is as cool as a cucumber.
Remember I said I drove this car 64 miles a day? Well this car gets nothing but highway miles, except for the 6 miles in which I have to drive in traffic, and the gas mileage is 34.67, with the AC on most the time.
Everyone I know (there are more than 2 people) likes this car. It’s a symbol of luxury and quality. And these characteristics it does have. This car is truly the greatest car ever made. I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a truly inexpensive luxury car.
