My Second Avalon

After owning an Avalon XL since 1996, I was intent on replacing it with an "upscale" Acura or Lexus which I test drove and closely analyzed. I'm a big man and prefer a roomy car. The Acura 350 RL was a disappointment; a big exterior car but I felt cramped in it. The dash board and controls were poorly laid out and confusing. The Lexus ES 300 (with the same engine as the Avalon)had superb quality but again I felt cramped in it. I then test drove an Avalon XLS and was surprised at the improvements in the Avalon since 1996. All the luxury of a Lexus without the crazy price. I've driven the 2002 Avalon 697 miles so far and could not be happier. Don't waste your time test driving--- go buy an Avalon.
