Author's Review

My family bought the Sienna LE in 2001 as a tow vehicle that would still serve as a good daily driver for my mother. A one-ton popup camper is the intended tow, the Sienna has a tow rating of 3500lbs. This Minivan can haul.
This van has towed 3 trips from St. Louis to Colorado plus many other shorter trips with out a single problem. . . from the van anyway. . . moving on. When riding as a passenger while the van is towing you don't really notice that there is a trailer behind you until you look back and don't see road behind you. The ride is smooth, load or not. I've blown trailer tires in Kansas and barely felt it. The seats remove instead of fold down removing 100lbs from rear and actually adding room and not rearranging it.
The only risk with this car is that you have to be very careful to balance your trailer to keep from raising the front of the van up removing steering and drive control.
The interior is typical Toyota, simple and functional, but a few too many cup holders.
With a tow rating of 3500lbs. the Sienna is far from lacking power. The brakes stop well, the engine is quiet until you floor the gas, then at about 4500RPM the car gets loud and sounds pretty wild. It handles pretty well for a cow.
Apparently the van frame takes it personal when you take it on a 4X4 trail. The right front and left rear wheels went up and the left front and right rear wheels went down twisting the frame. But the only problem resulting was a little rattle from the sliding doors. I suppose we have only ourselves to blame for that one.
I am 19 years old and I would take this Minivan
