Multiple "real people" flaws

I purchased this product to avoid paying higher prices after my DVD player purchased in 1996 went bad. I wasn't worried about a great technological product. This product, however, doesn't even meet good standards for users that are high tech challenged. My BIGGEST complaint was over the piece of garbage they market as a remote. I have spent more time pushing the same button repeatedly trying to get the dumb thing to respond, not one or two times, six, seven, or up to twelve on one occasion. And don't do something as normal as stopping the movie to get the rest of dinner finished or fold a load of laundry. The player turns itself off without warning and it DOES NOT keep your place in the movie. And if that isn't frustrating enough, it is very slow in loading the movie back up. This thing constantly adds insult to injury. I would not even recommend this for use in a child's room. It is in no way user friendly. Definitely not practical for real people doing real things. Even if the player had exceptional picture and sound (which it doesn't, but I wasn't really expecting it to for the $39.00 I paid) I would not purchase this product for the frustration factor alone. It makes the movie watching experience maddening and not as enjoyable.
