Good, but questionable sound quality.
Pros:
Good picture, small profile, plays LOTS of media.
Cons:
Sounds like you have tin cans near your ears.
The Bottom Line:
Buy it for a place where sound is already compromised. Otherwise, skip it.

Author's Review
We have three young kids, and until they have a proper respect for the entertainment center, we don't want to invest in a high-end DVD player. We found this player for just under $50. It is compact, and black, and matches our existing equipment.
The video was really quite nice. I didn't have any major issues, considering the price, with image quality. I also loaded up the player with CD's, home-made DVD's, and photo-archived CD's. They all played very nicely.
Now, keep in mind I don't have a digital audio feed, so I can't rate that. But this is where I have issues. The analog audio sounded loud and tinny coming through our speakers. There was also a hint of added reverb. The 8-year old unit this one replaces had far better sound than this unit on the same TV. The sound menu consisted of two options... "Digital Output Type" and "Night Mode" (a preset version of Dynamic Range Compression). I am going to bring the player back, as I can't put up with the sound. The only question I have at this point is whether to replace it with a like unit (i.e. sound is defective) or to switch to another model (i.e. sound is a design flaw).
Sooo... if you are looking for a unit to put in a room without good sound to begin with, or one to attach to a small TV with poor sound, this unit will do what you need. If you are buying it as your primary DVD player, I would suggest looking around -- unless I truly have a defective machine. If I find that I do, I'll write a follow-up review.
