Nice GPS, but seems to have some bugs.
Pros:
Works great - when it is working
Cons:
Shuts down unexpectedly, Can't find a way home, needs to be reset
The Bottom Line:
This is an ok GPS - not very reliable. However when it is working normally, it functions perfectly.

Author's Review
This Tom Tom GPS system seems to work great.. when it is not malfunctioning. Other reviewer will have explained why it is good - I won't go too far into that. The interface is slick and easy to understand (even for my eighty year old grandfather who is not quite what I would describe as tech savvy).
Some problems I have run into:
1. Cant figure out a way home! While driving between Washington DC and Rochester, NY Tom Tom kept pointing me in a direction I did not want to take. It wanted me to go north to Syracuse and then home via Route 90. Instead I wanted to go north via 15, a smaller highway but one that would get me home quicker. Tom Tom was unable to choose that route, so I just started driving it myself. Along the way (while already on 15 heading north), I set the unit to navigate me home it kept diverting me back via the other route (even though that would have been completely out of the way) OR it was simply be unable to find a way home.
2. Tom Tom needs to be reset! What is wrong with Tom Tom? He is not doing anything. A minute ago it was working, but now it is off and refuses to come back on! This situation was solved by resetting the unit with a paperclip (same as with a CD or DVD drive in a computer). I removed the unit from power, took out the memory card and inserted the paperclip for fifteen seconds. I let it rest for a moment and turned it back on and it was back to regular function.
3. Shuts down for no reason (has full battery power), and refuses to work. I keep trying to turn it off and on, and it keeps hanging in the beginning stages of startup. It literally will hang for as much as thirty minutes (meanwhile the highway flies by). The only way to get out of this situation seems to be to turn off the unit completely and let it think about what its done. I then turn it back on after about five minutes and the Tom Tom will start up normally and jump back into regular function.
Again, like I said this is a great GPS unit when it is working. The other times have lead to a lot of anger and swearing on my part. I would look for a better GPS system.
