Stay far away!

With three kids, a four-slot toaster is a must in our household. Unfortunately, we didn't do any research before we headed to the store and just picked this one out because it was the cheapest on the shelf. There's a reason it was so cheap.

This is the worst appliance we have ever purchased. As another reviewer stated, it only toasts one side of your food which means you have to flip it over to complete toasting -- that is, if you can pull the bread out once the "toasting" is complete: Not only does the toasting grid push the bread or other food up against one side, but pushes it over so suddenly that the bread slides down the side of the metal resting rack it's supposed to sit on and gets stuck on pop up, meaning you lose half your toast when you try to pry it out.

The Pop Tart logo on the dial is just plain ugly and that setting doesn't even work -- you have to send the Pop Tart through three times before it's ready to go (which kind of defeats the purpose of "convenience food" as well as what was surely thought by some marketing genius as good advertising for Pop Tarts.)

The right side of our toaster stopped working about two weeks after we brought it home -- no matter how many times we push down on the lever it pops back up, rendering the entire unit nearly useless in our household -- we got rid of a two-slot because it wasn't big enough! After only a year we have started to have to have the same problem with the left side. I can't believe this piece of garbage ever made it to store shelves and we will stay away from any Toastmaster products for a long, long time.
