I chose the Titanic soundtrack for this review. I never thought I would find myself longing for classical music until I heard this CD. The sounds that invades my speakers draws you into the movie but also fills you with peace and overwhelms you with a calming tone.
This CD is best played on a system with strong speakers and a lot of base if you want to get the full affect of the instruments. Please note that there are two versions on the Titanic soundtrack, the one I am reviewing is all classical except for the one Celine Dion song. The other version is mostly vocal with many lines from the movie itself.
This soundtrack involves the listener and much as the movie involved the viewer. James Horner the composer and conductor of this magical sound uses a variety of techniques when producing this CD. He uses a full orchestra, single instruments and even a single voice and still brings out an awesome sound.
There are 15 different titles on this and each one fills your heart with the joy and sorrow of this movie. I love to listen to this CD when I want to relax. Light a few candles and pop in the Titanic soundtrack and let the days events fade away.
Here is a list of the magnificent titles on this soundtrack:
1. Never an Absolution (03:04)
2. Distant Memories (02:24)
3. South Hampton (04:02)
4. Rose (02:53)
5. Leaving Port (03:27)
6. Take her to sea Mr. Murdoch (04:32)
7. Hard to Starboard (06:53)
8. Unable to stay/ Unwilling to leave (03:57)
9. The Sinking (05:06)
10. Death of Titanic (08:27)
11. A Promise Kept (06:03)
12. A Life So Changed (02:14)
13. An Ocean of Memories (07:58)
14. My Heart Will Go On (05:11) (Featuring Celine Dion)
15. Hymn To The Sea (06:26)
As you can see by the length of the titles that you get over an hour of dramatic sound. If the movie touched you as much as it touched me, then this soundtrack is definitely a must have. Even if you dont like classical music, this soundtrack will draw you into the Titanic and make you feel as if you are actually there laughing, crying, and dancing with the others. I have never heard a CD filled with such emotion. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
