If you feel like something's missing from the nightly news, and you're sick of the Monica Lewinsky stories (or whatever breathless new thing has taken the newscasters' fancy) you should check out The Nation. Molly Ivens, Jim Hightower, Katha Pollit, and Christopher Hitchens are just a few of the wonderful, passionate, unabashedly left writers that you'll find.

The Nation is a weekly magazine of about 15 or so pages (not glossy) published from New York City but with a world audience in mind. It's so refreshing to see that real, thinking people have a news magazine that covers the important stories. If you're satisfied with the pap that Time magazine feeds you -- don't bother. If you're ready for thinking and learning and feeling like there're other people out there who fight the good fight -- you've found it!
