Sure, The Nation has spotty editorial quality sometimes. And I sometimes just read some of the columnists like Alexander Cockburn for their off-the-wall political gunslinging. But overall, this is a wonderful publication. Even if every issue contained just one article by a William Greider, or a Barbara Kingsolver, a Tom Hayden or a Howard Zinn, the magazine would be well worth it -- especially if you are a subscriber, with the cost for each issue at about 50 cents. But in these bush'ed days, The Nation is an antidote to depression, a friend in your back pocket, and some good reading, as well.
