Not even a "half monty"
Date of Review: May 17, 2000
The full Monty is one of those films that when you start watching, you think that you may turn off half way through or lose interest in. I have to say, it did have its share of slow parts. And i'll tell you right off the bat, I will never rent it again, or recommend it to anyone.. but for some reason or another, there was something about it I kind of liked.
I think its one of those movies that a lot of people talked about when it came out, and It was up for awards at the time, so thats why i decided to rent it. Why it was rated R? Dont ask me! There was no "full monty" in it. Not even a half of a monty... or a quarter of a monty.
Parts of it were rather hard to understand though too, because of the actor's thick accents. Maybe you have to have that foreign sense of humor to appreciate it too, because i laughed only one time.
There were no twists, or exciting things that happened in my opinion. This just wasnt a very good movie. I paid 99 cents to rent it though, so i guess thats ok, but now that its over, i can think of alot of other things that i would have rather done in the hour and a half that I spent in front of my TV watching this.
So if you like the foreign sense of humor type thing, go for it.. but it certainly wasnt my type of thing.
