This Paradise is true

The Color of Paradise is a simple film about beauty alone. The film is more about vision than blindness even though the main character, a young boy named Mohammad is physically blind. The story follows Mohammad and his search for his father's love. His father curses his son for his blindness and does not want anything to do with him. He despises his son because of his disability. The true handicap is that while Mohammad is physically blind, he is able to clearly "see" all of the beauty in life, and his father who does have his eyesight is the one who is blinded from beauty and happiness. Mohammad sees the world through his fingertips and appreciates everything that has been given to him, while his father despises everything and is full of hatred toward his son. This film defines the word beauty and is in every way a great Iranian masterpiece. This film is priceless and uplifting! A beautiful gem!
