Stay Away! Get X-Wing: Alliance Instead!

I hope you're not reading this epinion in an effort to make a decision about whether or not to buy X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (XvT). If you are, then you obviously don't know about X-Wing: Alliance, which is a FAR better game. Forget about XvT right now and go get a copy of the excellent X-Wing: Alliance!
XvT was an over-hyped game that simply didn't live up to expectations. Every gamer I know was psyched up for XvT before it was released. After they bought it and played it, they felt disappointed and a little bit cheated. There is no single player campaign, and the multiplayer gaming is lame and unstable. The graphic engine was new at the time, and had a number of small glitches here and there... the most annoying of which involved the existence of micro-pauses in the game as you played it. Very frustrating.
X-Wing: Alliance, on the other hand, takes everything great about the entire X-Wing series and puts it all together correctly. It's a solid, fantastic game that will keep your entertained online and off for many weeks.
Forget about X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, don't even buy it if it's in the bargain bins.
