a great kids film with kid main characters, good action, and values
Pros:
Entertaining for kids and adults
Cons:
the 3-D was a little weak and very little character backgrounds
The Bottom Line:
Despite lacking 3-D effects and character background I do think Spy Kids 3: Game Over is a great kids film and fun for adults as well.

Author's Review
For seven thousand dollars he made an ultra low budget independent film that would make him a legend. Sure he had to subject himself to experimental drug studies to earn that money, but for Director, Writer, Producer, Composer, Cinematographer, Robert Rodriguez it would be worth it. Now Rodriguez shows what that type of dedication can bring with Spy Kids 3: Game Over.
Juni Cortez is the youngest member in a family of super-spies who has left the agency to become a private investigator. However when his older sister falls in to a coma like state while trying to stop a cyber bad guy called the toy maker, played by Sylvester Stallone, he has no choice but to return and help her. Once in the cyber world Juni is able to recruit the help of Ricardo Montalban, but to Juni
its Grandpa, the betrayed former partner of the Toy Maker whos been in a wheel chair for the last 30 years. With the help of a few others the family of spies must find the trapped sister, shut down the cyber game before it takes over the minds of all the children of the world, and keep the Toy Maker locked away in the virtual reality existence that they themselves are trying to escape. Oh yeah and it 3-D.
Yes thats right its been two decades and the art of 3-D movies has been brought back to a 2-D industry. For those who have never had the pleasure other than some Disney Park attractions its sure to be an enjoyable interactive experience. For those of you that have been to a 3-D movie you hopes for nostalgia might be for nothing. I know its been twenty-years or so, but I remember a lot more ewws and ahhs from the audience back in the day. I liked what the 3-D effect did for landscapes, but when it came to jump of the screen action
it just wasnt there.
Now the movie itself is the Third installment of the Spy Kids Franchise and you might want to consider seeing the first two before seeing this one. It really seems to be the years for non-stand-alone third movies, and Spy Kids 3: Game Over is no exception. There are several characters from previous films that get no reintroduction what so ever. This could upset the first time viewer who might get distracted by something like that, or you just might not care who the guy with four faces is.
Despite the lacking 3-D effects and character background I do think Spy Kids 3: Game Over is a great kids film. It has lots of kids as main characters
good action
and values that arent cheesy or forced. Its also not bad for adults either. Stallone is historical as the bad guy, and its always good to hear Ricardo Montalban talking about Corinthian Leather.
Im giving Spy Kids 3: Game Over 4 out of 5 stars
