BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!

Date of Review:  Oct 28, 2005
Review: Truly the BEST phones for around 50-75 bucks. Very comfortable, adjustable fit...helps to get them snugged down to the ears for sonic purposes. Nice compactability...folds down and fits into a very nice storage pouch(included). Very nicely driven by...

The Old Standbys

Date of Review:  Nov 7, 2006
The Bottom Line: More like 3.5 stars. I'd recommend to a friend ONLY if they were to be used mainly with an iPod or other portable device.
Review: I purchased the Sony MDR-V600s as my first pair of headphones that would cost more than $100. I was now a "beginner audiophile". Throughout 4+ years of my college experience, including 2 different schools and 4 different dorm rooms, the V600s were...

The best headphones for the price

Date of Review:  Jul 25, 2001
The Bottom Line: Recommend for anyone who does not want to spend hundreds of dollars for high quality headphones. Home use only.
Review: The Sony MDR-V600 headphones are the best headphones I have ever bought. These headphones feature closed air technology that allows you to listen to music with out interruption from outside noises such as radios or tv. This feature all so allows for...

Superb Sound For Less!

Date of Review:  Sep 10, 2000
Review: These phones are probably the best bang for your buck out there on the market today! I had a pair of Sony MDR-CD60 phones 6 years ago which were ok. The MDR-V600s however blow away those 'el cheapo $20-$50 CD60s. I use them with my Aiwa HX-TX794...

Average midline headphones

Date of Review:  Mar 30, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you can pick them up for around 30-40 bucks, go ahead. Otherwise, I'd pass.
Review: I bought these thinking they would be a good update to the venerable Sony MDR-V6. Boy was I wrong.

The MDR-V600 are big on bass, too much so for my taste. The bass seems overdone and excessive. The mid levels seem lacking and stifled,...

good, not sure if they're worth 100 bucks

Date of Review:  Feb 6, 2004
The Bottom Line: Good phones, not excellent. If you're looking for a step up from those crappy phones you get for free when you buy your cd player, these guys are your ticket.
Review: 100 bucks? I've had these guys for a week now, and I'm not too impressed. I'm not unhappy, don't get me wrong, but something doesn't seem quite right for 100 dollars.

I bought a pair of MDR-V6 headphones back in the early 90s and was quite...

"THE" headphones to avoid.

Date of Review:  Feb 21, 2001
The Bottom Line: Not worth more then $40.
Review: I really try to write positive reviews on whatever I have in my hands, but I can't put myself up to it on this one.

Excessive vibrations in some genres of music sometimes make the headphones highly annoying to listen to. Over the top...

Sweet Sounds

Date of Review:  Jan 15, 2000
