Not for the long haul
Pros:
Older, models WERE work-horses
Cons:
Have to replace it within a year's time.
The Bottom Line:
It won't last, and that's a guarantee.

Author's Review
I used an Epson Stylus Color 800 from the mid 90's to the early 2000's. That printer was a work horse! I couldn't praise it more. When it finally gave out, I replaced it with an Epson Stylus C-84, which seemed to work great right off the bat.
It sat for a few months unused when we moved, however, and now that it's time for the holidays and I really need to use my printer again, everything's coming out green? What?!!
Well, I've seen this before. Clean the jets - no cheap feat. Replace the cartridges. Ditto. But everything still prints green. What?!!! Adjust the software, do everything imaginable, and then?
I know how to manage my printer, this is BS! I'm not a newby by any means, but I call Tech Support. Which, is NOT an 800 number. This call is on my nickel. And of course we have to go thru many minutes of establishing who I am and what the serial number of my machine is, and eventually they realize I'm a good, past customer. Well, whoopie!!! We go thru all the BS and eventually they give me this SECRET web address and this SECRET password. So I go there, and all it amounts to is a page with 3 printers with 10 dollar discounts. WTF? What happened to helping me resolve the problems that are occurring with my present printer?
Epson may still have some good printers, I don't doubt that. But they've lost me as a customer. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!! I'm DISGUSTED with Epson.
Another note, is that other printers don't eat up ink to clear their jets. Big, BIG issue when considering a new purchase!
Go elsewhere, I am!
