The Bottom Line: The Sony D-NE509 Walkman is great for uninterrupted playback ? it?s usefulness with CDs containing many ATRAC and .mp3 files is limited by the player?s difficult navigation functions

Nice basic player

The Bottom Line: Good basic player that will play CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3 files. Too bad the included Atrac software isn't Mac-compatible.

Great Player, But With An Issue

The Bottom Line: If you want very high song capacity on a cd, have Sony quality, and still not spend much, then go with the Sony D-NE509.

Perhaps good enough for some.. but not for me!

The Bottom Line: It gets the job done, but not in the way I want. It reads ID3 and has an LCD screen.. Sony could have done a lot more with these things!

sony ne509 good for fm transmitter

Review: Long battery life, 80hours or so. Sony atrac3 software
that comes with unit allows about 30CDs on one CD.
Plug in a fm transmitter and use it at work--very handy.
Transmitter only lasts about 16 hours on batteries though.
