Bright light. Low cost. A must for any camcorder owner.

The Bottom Line: This is a must for any camcorder owner.
Most modern camcorders either don't have built-in lights or have totally inadequate tiny lights. They generally produce poor results when videoing at night or in dark rooms. That's what happened when I "taped" a family wedding reception recently; the scenes of the dance floor came out very dark. So I bought this light and I'm glad I did. It is small and easy to attach to any camcorder or camera with a standard "shoe". It's powered by 2 rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries, so it doesn't draw juice from your camcorder's own battery, and it comes with a plug-in charger. You can also replace them with regular AAA batteries, but you should never have to. It claims to hold a charge for 60 to 90 minutes depending on usage. The LED light is VERY bright so it has no problem illuminating someone across a room. However it has a fairly narrow beam, so the center of your subject is very well lit, but its surroundings are not. For the money, it can't be beat. It sells for $19.99 at a well-known New York City electronics store. I got it on eBay for $12.54 including Priority shipping. Not bad! I would recommend this light to any camcorder owner.
