Pros:  Sensor Cook function

Cons:  Size

The Bottom Line:  Sensor Cook technology is simply fantastic. Go for it with your eyes closed. I have owned it for 2 years now with not a single glitch.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

Ever find yourself checking and re-checking to see that your food in the microwave is hot or not. Sharp has come up with the Sensor Cook function that removes all the guesswork. I find this function most useful especially when re-heating leftovers. Just put the food inside in a microwave-safe dish and hit the Sensor Reheat button and it does the rest. Your food is heated just right and you don’t have to poke your finger into it to see if it is all done.
This feature is so convenient I am surprised it is not marketed more aggressively.
The Sensor Cook technology does not just reheat leftovers. It has the following settings where it actually cooks food based upon a number of settings described below:

Popcorn (1.5 - 3.5oz)
Fresh Veggies (soft/hard)
Frozen Veggies (2lbs)
Baked Potatoes (1-4 medium, simply excellent)
Rice (1/2 - 2 cups)
Ground Meat (.25 - 1.5 lbs)
Poultry (3lbs)
Fish Seafood (.25 - 1.5 lbs)
Frozen Entrees (6-17 oz)

It also has additional One Touch settings such as:-

One Dish dinners:- (use recipe book and select options)
Ground beef dinner
Chicken Dinner
Beef or Pork Dinner
Seafood Dinner
Vegetarian dinner.
(All dishes feed 4)

Lunch on the Run:
Meal in a cup
Hot dogs in buns
Soup
Microwave Pizza
Frozen Sandwich

Breakfast Bar:
Scrambled Eggs (1-9 eggs)
Bacon (2-6sclices)
Hot Cereal (1-4 servings)
Frozen Breakfast foods (3-6oz)

Super Defrost:
Ground Meat (1lb)
Boneless Poultry (1lb)
Bone-in Chicken (2lbs)

Compu Defrost:
Ground Meat (.5 - 3lbs)
Steaks Chops or fish (.5 - 4lbs)
Chicken Pieces (.5 - 3lbs)
Roast (2 - 4lbs)
Casserole (2 - 6cups)
Soup (1-4 cups)

Beverage center
Make Coffee/tea (1-4cups)
Reheat (.5 - 2cups)

It has a convenient green illuminated display panel that leads you through each step (For eg. You press 'Beverage Center', it will automatically give you directions as to what to select to make coffee/tea or what to select if you just want to reheat your coffee)

The power 1150watts is adequate and it does a quick job of heating food. It easily accommodates a 5lb chicken. It is easy to clean. Its only con is that it takes up a lot of counter space.
