The Bottom Line: Forget the specs..these phones produce MUSIC!!!
Review: I purchased a pair these headphones about 2 weeks ago. (For the purpose of comparison my reference headphones are ESP.9s---30/15kHz +-1.3db no longer made but you can compare at >$1k). These phones, however, can do things even my reference phones...

perfect sound

The Bottom Line: If you're obsessed with the "real sound", with hearing what's on the wire with no modifications whatsoever, look no further.
Review: I don't care about "pleasant" sound, i want to hear exactly what's "on the wire". I'm a dyed-in-the-wool audiophile and i'm also playing electronic music. So, the precision of the reproduction is paramount to me.

The best headphones under $1000

The Bottom Line: Aside from the loose wires they are the best headphones I have ever used.
Review: I originally bought these with Sennheiser's Lucas surround sound unit and I have never looked back (although the Lucas unit is stuck in a cupboard now :-)

The sound is wonderful and it was amazing to hear headphones producing such good...

These are great headphones, but. . .

Review: To make the Sennheiser HD 600's a worthwhile purchase, you need very good upstream equipment. Buying these to plug into your computer, or into a mass-market CD player is a bit like mixing 20-year old Scotch into a Long Island Iced Tea.

Never EVER compare headphones!

The Bottom Line: I cannot reccommend these. Although the experience of using these and owning them is like no other in the world to an audiophile like myself, the cost was too great.
Review: Yes, I did it. I put on a pair of $60.00 headphones and listened for awhile. Then I put on the HD 600. The difference was like looking at a painting ($60.00), and then stepping inside the painting($400.00). Was stepping inside the painting worth it?...
