Good, cheap commuter car

I've been driving my Scion xD for 6 months now, and I have to say that it's a pretty good value for my money. I was looking to downsize from a Camry while still getting a good ride and reliability. I'm pretty sure I got both.

It's true that it can get rather noisy when driving on the highway, but it's not any worse than any other subcompact car I've been in. Also, the relatively high profile of the vehicle makes it easy to be blown around by the wind.

The ride may be a little firm for a few, but nothing a normal person couldn't handle. The steering is predictable and makes stops in a hurry. It also has a little more horsepower than the Honda Fit. And, it should be of little surprise that it is pretty good on the fuel. The build quality lives up to the Toyota reputation.

Overall, it was a great buy and I'm happy with the car. If you're looking at subcompacts I would definitely give the xD a look-see.
