The best for under $200

The Bottom Line: The best of the small portable DVD players, excellent picture quality
This is the best of the Sub-$200 players. The picture quality is miles ahead of the competition. It will play all all my disks from my DVD recorder. as well as my MP3s and picture disks (although the picture quality is poor when viewing pictures).
It is about half as thin and light as the competition, and the (unlike some of the competition), the battery is small and stylish.
The negatives are; No contrast or brightness adjustment. The menus are fiddly, especially the aspect ratio control, which is three levels down in the setup menu. There really should be a button for this. Also the battery takes a long time (about 3 hours) to recharge.
The other negatives are the same for all these small DVD players; The sound is tinny, OK for movies, but lousy for music. The sound is much better with phones, but not as good as a good CD player. Picture quality varies as you move the sceen up and down. The buttons and DVD lid seem a little flimsy, but the outside of the case is sturdy. The battery life is about 2 1/2 hours. Average for these small players but still too short.
