Sturdy gate best for stairs, but could use improvement

The Bottom Line: Decent gate for the price, but has some less-than-satisfactory components. I would recommend this gate for the budget conscious.
Review: This is the second baby gate we have bought to close off the stairs of our split level house. The first gate was also a Safety 1st model, and despite using their installation template, we went through 3 sets of hinges in one year. Not a good design...

Not great, but the best I've found

The Bottom Line: Best solution I've seen for keeping small children safe around stairs.  Not perfect, though.
Review: We've had two of these gates for the last 4 years, and are fairly happy with them.  Our main staircase is 14 steps and uncarpeted, so we felt it important to have gates that would be secure, but easy to open for adults.
