Author's Review
My title says it all. I went back and forth in trying to decide which pail to purchase. Why did I choose this one? Well I like the idea of it using regular trash bags as opposed to expensive refills. After reading many reviews of many different diaper pails I really saw no difference in these things. This seemed to be the one with the least amount of bad reviews! So what the heck, why not pay less, I am going to take it out once a week anyway. Well I am happy with my decision. Once your baby is on solids, watch out, those things stink!
Setup is very easy. There is the pail itself, the lid, the odor barrier and the deodorant disk. The replacements for these are hard to find but we really do not use it now. It uses a standard 13-gallon tall kitchen bag. It is somewhat awkward getting the bag around the lid, you have to wrap it around the blue insert and flip the lid over it.
It is so easy to use as well. Just push the big blue button on the top and the lid pops up. There is no twisting involved, just wrap up your diaper before putting it through the blue odor barrier and shut the lid and no smell! Make sure your husband does the same, they tend to just toss the opened treasure right in the bucket, not even giving it a chance to keep odors at bay. As long as it keeps the odor in the bucket I am happy. I usually take mine out to the garage once a week and air it out and it is just fine.
The odorless diaper pail is fairly sturdy, I noticed several of them tipped over easily, not this one. It is just the right size, I usually fill mine up within a week, and I work 40 hours so my daughter is in daycare during the day. You will want to empty it by this time anyway, it hold about 18-24 soiled diapers. When the pail is full you tend to smell an odor because the sealed chamber is not fully closed. Make sure to empty the pail before then to avoid this. When you are ready to empty it just twist the lid to seal the bag.
