Gear Stripping Nightmare

by   rvdaba ,   May 11, 2005

Pros:  Nice look, not too loud and will periodically shred a few sheets.

Cons:  Plastic gears extremely weak and motor insulator disintegration a serious electrocution hazard.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

Been through two of these nightmare machines with both stripping various gears, the motor insulator spacer disintegrating (serious electrocution hazard), bent shaft (first one) and other problems. This guy has only seen the lightest of duty and even then eats itself up without any paper in it at all (reverse). Someone has to be at the bottom of the pack and this is the guy.
It does have a nice look to it, will shred a piece of paper at times without breaking and is not too loud except for the times it starts breaking parts. This is last Royal product we ever purchase.
