2001 World Award Winner

A couple of years ago, a guatemalan friend of mine, brought a bottle of Zacapa Centenario from the Duty Free.

We had a couple of drinks of this very smooth oak barrel aged rum.

I was really impressed of the quality of a Guatemalan Rum, and the most impressive thing is that this rum is produced by Botran (distiller) who is considered one of the biggest distillers with Flor de Cana (nicaragua) in Central America.
I had tried a couple of rums from Botran but quality was under under average, presented with plastic cap etc...

But Zacapa is very different, you can tell by the quality design of the bottle, totally covered with ......... first aromas remind me to : light vanilla, oak, and caramel, after the first sip you will notice a velvet sensation on your tongue. Very smooth final in mouth

Zacapa can be mixed (not recommended) or simply straight or on the rocks.

I always have a bottle of Zacapa (very easy to find in Central America) in my bar.

A couple of weeks ago reading a Food&Beverage Magazine I noticed that Zacapa just received the Gold Medal at the last international rum testing. It was considered the World's best rum by professional testers.

A must have in your bar if you are a Rum Lover or if you pretend to exhibit your full bar.
