Author's Review
I'm in the market for a new shaver to replace my Microscreen TA-3070. I've used this shaver for about 5 years and have had such great performance that I want the replacement to be equally impressive. So I decided to check out how folks were reviewing this, my current shaver, in comparision.
First, I have very sensitive skin and am blonde so not terribly thick facial hair. As said, I have used the Remington Microscreen TA-3070 for about 5 years and have not had to replace ANYTHING!. The foil is very durable, the blades still cut great. Problem is that after 5 years, the battery has finally died. I figured rather than replace the battery, foil and blades I would just get a new device. Now as I am reading so many reviews of other shavers which have problems with foil, battery and 'hi-tech' cleaning systems I'm wondering if I should just stick with my this device! I attribute the longevity of this device to the fact that I charged it every day and kept it brushed clean regularly - merely popping the foil off and whisking the blades. I've dropped this shaver, no problems, this thing is a tool, not a pretty little bathroom accessory.
Well, keeping it short I will say that I just returned from a trip to Europe and before I left I ran through all my electronic devices to make sure they could work on 240 power. That's the final kicker as the reason I'm replacing this shaver that has served me well for many years - no dual power support. Only other negative comments I will make are that 1) this shaver is NOT stylish and 2) There is no handy charger so the thing is pretty much sitting on your bathroom counter plugged into the wall.
I would recommend this shaver to anyone - was surprised to see that it is still available!
