Don't fear the Truth
Date of Review: Jul 8, 2000
Peretti's book Prophet talks about relationships with the Truth. If you are not in the Truth, you fear it for it is strange to you. The Truth is nothing to fear unless you are a stranger to it. The book talks about abortion and hiding the Truth.
Peretti is a Christian so he comes out in favor of truth. He opposes abortion by gently showing the horror that can result from "choice." A reporter is the son of the Prophet and is very embaressed that his father is not as enlightened as he. Gradually the son begins to seek the Truth and his father's way rather than simply the news.
Being a seeker of the truth can be a dangerous task. The son is in jeopardy of either his job or his soul. He chooses or is chosen for the truth. He risks his career to help expose the horrible truth of an unregulated abortion industry.
Mini sermon from Jada: It is interesting to me that propagandists for abortion rights make the issue one of choice v. anti-choice. This makes the issue so much cleaner that truthfully admitting that it is life v. murder of an unborn. If this costs me your high recommend, so be it. Like I said earlier, the truth is something that you must seek regardless of cost.
Prophet is a great book for the person who is seeking. If you believe but fear the consequences, it may help you to know that you are not standing alone. The consequences in each case will be yours, but you are not alone.
I have read the oath and visitation also. They are great. I love Peretti's stories and faith. Read his books. Support Christian authorship. Enjoy.
