Ok for the price
Date of Review: Feb 26, 2007
The Bottom Line: It is the best we could find at 8 different stores for the price. Don't ask why we went to 8 stores, let's just say -we really wanted Buffalo wings
I bought mine at Macy's for $39.99 on sale. Mine was black, not white.
There is no on/off switch, so when I went to plug it in the first time, I got a spark from my electrical outlet. Also, it has one of those quick disconnect, magnetic connections for the AC, which I do not like. Had I known this, I would not have bought it. The Rivals have these, and I hate them. It is supposed to be for safety, but I don't care for it. If it was bumped and the device fell over, the oil would still be hot regardless of the connection being broken.
There is an indicator light when the oil has reached temperature. We do like the filter system, the smell was minimal. The cool touch outside is nice. Also, we really liked the fact we could lift the basket, add the food, close the lid and then lower the food. It is the same for removing the food; you can lift the food out of the oil and then open the lid.
Cleaning wasn't so bad. After the oil was completely cool, the inner bucket pulled out nicely for cleaning.
In summary, it was the best Fryer for the price.
