The Bottom Line: Generations of cartoon fans have been taught to settle for less. Popeye blows that notion out of the water
Review: Grown-up kids at heart, do yourself a favor. Take the money you'd have blown to go see the latest dumb family comedy, tack on a few extra bucks, and buy Warner Bros.' 4-DVD set Popeye the Sailor, Vol. 1 (1933-38).

Strong to the finich...it's POPEYE THE SAILOR from 1933-1938.

The Bottom Line: If you are a Popeye fan or at least have a marginal interest in animation or classic comic strip characters, this is like spinach for the soul.
