It's Really Cool!

These are my ten year old sons opinions on this game. He should know, he's played it a zillion times since Christmas, worn out several packages of batteries, and is bugging me for more batteries.

Matt says that he like the fact that you can take your Pokemon around in the pokeballs. You get six Pokemon to carry around in the game. The object is to get past all eight Pokemon leaders. Matt says that the hardest part is getting past Victory Road. You have your Pokemon battle the Pokemon leaders. The first and second leaders are so easy. The Pokemon each do different things, so you have to choose which one will do the best in battle. Squirtle is a water type Pokemon that is a tiny turtle. Charmander is a lizard that uses fire. He prefers to be in dry places. Bulbasaur is a plant type Pokemon. His first attack is tackle. Then he learns vine whip when he gets to a high enough level.
You get badges for beating the leaders. You get to name your character and your rival.
You can use a character name from the game or your own name. You can also give your Pokemon a nickname.

There are good Pokemon and bad Pokemon in this game. You get the good ones. You can also trade Pokemon with your friends, or characters in the game. The games can be connected together, so you can play your friends.

This is a good game for traveling. It keeps their attention for long periods of time. Only drawback is that the gameboy eats batteries very quickly. I'm about to invest in a AC adapter for it. Should pay off in the long run.
