Review: To make this review a simple read, I have outlined the pros and cons of owning a Plymouth Acclaim. I have been driving one for about three years now and this list is based on solely my own experience with that particular car.

My First Car!

Date of Review:  Apr 2, 2007
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to new drivers and anyone seeking a reliable car on a budget that is fun to drive.
Review: I got the 1991 Plymouth Acclaim as my first car. My Grandma bought the car brand new in 1991 and then my mom drove it for a few years, until it became exclusivley mine this October. It's got about 69,000 miles on it, so it hasen't been driven too...

Acclaim's 100,000 mile problems

Date of Review:  Mar 27, 2002
The Bottom Line: My car made it to 160,000 miles, but I probably have paid twice in maintenance what I paid for the car itself.
Review: I purchased a 1991 Acclaim in 1997, it had 100,000 miles when I purchased it.
I have had nothing but problems with this car, and by talking to several mechanics, I am not alone.

This car is infamous for two problems. The first, the...

Critically "Acclaimed"

Date of Review:  Jun 7, 2000
Review: I must admit that I don't know very much about cars, and so I probably shouldn't even be writing this epinion. But since this site thrives on epinions like mine--from regular, average people who aren't very knowledgable about the things they...

All That Class

Date of Review:  Jan 18, 2002
The Bottom Line: The 1991 Acclaim is an excellent choice for anyone who is in the market for good gas usage, classic styling and easy maintenance.
Review: The 1991 Plymouth Acclaim will do down in history as one of the best cars ever made by Chrysler/Mopar.
I purchased a used 1991 Acclaim in 1997. Of all the cars I have owned in the past, this one has been the most reliable of them all. I used to...

All the mechanics and all the mechanic's men couldn't put it back together again.

Date of Review:  Apr 23, 2003
The Bottom Line: This is car is okay as long as you don't plan to go more than walking distance away from home.
Review: I bought a lovely, dark green 1991 Plymouth Acclaim in January of 2002. It was used when I bought it for $2000 and had about 70,000 miles on it. I didn't have any problems with it until June. However, during those months I had not driven the car...

Why Not?

Date of Review:  Jan 24, 2002
The Bottom Line: Reliable and economical for a low cost...good buy. But not if you value safety more than economy.
Review: I bought a 1991 in 1996 and have had few repairs...until now with 105K and I need a new part that controls the speedometer....cost$305.00 not including labor...but if that is the most expensive thing I have to do and have owned it for 6 years..then...
