Amazing picture ! Buy it simply the BEST period

First, this year pioneer makes some changes to its plasma Tv to make them even better

This year, pioneer add New blue and red phospors that really shines when you listen to comics and Sports like Hd football, baseball and other so you can really feel it's real. Football player equipment look real with nice colors, it's like you are there!

DVD picture IS AMAZING !! Yes even in 480p or 1080I the picture shines and look similar.. This is because pioneer is upsampling to HD resolution every signal so you always get the best detailed and colored picture. Black and grey ARE REALLY GOOD too, you can't notice colors gradations or greenish grey.

Colors are way nicer than Panasonic px60 or px600 plasma in my opinions and if you look closely, that's in part because of a crystal emissive layer on the front of the tv.. yes crystal not cheap plastic or glass like panasonic or other brand !!

Pioneer plasmas also have a usb input on the tv side so you can plug in your usb storage media to see your Jpeg picture in digital fullscreen !! WOW perfect colors and so clear compared to composite video cables ! You could use this feature for showing any vacation pitures to friends or family or just for slideshow to add a touch to any decor. The PC input can serve the same purpose or you can use it to see windows or Mac OS and surf internet!( use game mode for pc input)

In regular tv( 480lines or less) pioneer excel in making the picture soft and natural while panasonic make a different picture more crisp but also with more noise in it. Thats why I prefer the approach of pioneer with upsampling the line to 720p. Anyway, at seating distance the picture look amazing with pioneer but may look grainy with panasonic (cartoon like efect). You can help the panasonic and reduce sharpness to -16.

Other considerations:

This year, pioneer removed the external A/V media receiver made by sharp last year and it's now incorporated in the plasma tv rear section like other brand. Also, the plasma comes with the base to put it on a table and speakers are no more an option.

Now the questions ... If you hesitate about lcd or plasma you must know that this set is better than ANY LCD tv on the market because 90% of lcd on the market only have 72% of NTSC colors and some more expensive sony and samsumg have the new 92% CCFL colors saturation..guest what? Pioneer has more than 100 % coverage of NTSC standard and better blacks than ANY LCD ON THE MARKET (no backlid)! Why buy and lcd when even good tube tv get better colors ( more than 80% NTSC COLORS for tube tv)

LCD also consume more or the same the amount of electricity than cmoparable plasma tv because in lcd the lamp is always open so it always take the maximum power, in plasma the energy consumption change with what is on screen. Usually plasma only take 60% of the given MAX wattage and it could use as low as 40% in dark scenes. In a year, different test proven that plasma are equal or better than LCD tv in term of energy savings.( pioneer wins the Japanese low energy trophee 2 years in a row, not panasonic!)

As far as I know and see, plasma is better than lcd tv in keeping the colors and contrast constant depending on your horizontal seating position and in sunny room. LCD doesnt have the same colors when you look at them on the side and are plague by the effect of the sun on the colors you see. Plasma glass cause a small reflect on the screen that you can ignore during your listening and light does not interfere with your picture colors like lcd !!

Make a good choice, a choice for a life( 60 0000 hours of HALF LIFE equal 27 years at 6 hours a day!) choose pioneer because its perfect in every aspect . It's even compatible with 1080p resolution in the future !

The TV also comes with a nice remote, it's easy to adjust and if you want to professionnaly calibrate the colors, you will be able to reach close to perfection!

But Why is it the best of the best ?? This year, many plasma tv on the market are really good and cheaper than before. What's makes pioneer better than the other brand is the attention to every details, finish, picture quality and many other small hidden things that make it easyer to use.

I hope my review help, forget about the high specs other plasma have like 10000:1 DYNAMIC contrast that is not true.. simply buy this plasma made in USA with only US and Japanese parts now and start enjoying the best quality and energy efficient plasma on the planet for now!
