I have had a subscription to People magazine off and on now for years. I recently just decided to start getting it again. I need my fix of gossip and information on the celebrities! :-)
People is a great magazine for keeping up with the rich and famous. I enjoy the candid shots of celebrities and the tid bits of information you gain while reading it. It's a great way to keep up with the stars and also learn more about them in interviews. I particularly enjoy People magazine because I am always reading about these stars, from TV shows or movies, and I had never heard of them. I guess People helps me stay on top of the Hollywood scene.
You can find out who's divorcing who, who got engaged/married. Who is pregnant and who had babies. Oh! And who is dating each other. That's always good for a grin or grimace, depending on what you find out. (Lara Flynn Boyle and Jack Nicholson?? OK....) It's also a wonderful magazine for getting interesting names for children. Did you know Madonna named her son Rocco? (I don't know what some of these people are thinking! Although I don't consider Rocco anything too odd)
Besides the pictures, stories and gossip about the rich and famous, there are always some really interesting and heart wrenching stories about everyday people. Rescues, heros, brave children...anything that has a story. Those are always interesting to read.
I read People cover to cover in just a few hours. It is very light and fun reading.
I have tried reading some of the other celebrity mags out there, but this one seems to be the only one that I have found that covers every "type" of celebrity. Music, TV, movies, sports, old or young....they're all in People magazine. I don't have enough interest in just the music scene to read Rolling Stone (and I haven't in years), and I have never been interested in buying a copy of Entertainment Weekly....I think that's the name of it.
I am sticking with my People magazine. It's fairly inexpensive when you have a subscription ($1.99 and issue) and it's weekly! No waiting an entire month for your next issue!
