A camera this expensive should take adequate pictures indoors. The images for pictures taken in natural outdoor light are generally very good. Those taken indoors or in poor light are dreadful. The brightness of the picture is terrible and the focus seems worse. Try the Canon compact series. While they won't fit in an Altoids box, they will take better pictures and controls such as the zoom function are more intuitive and easier to use.
